A pale figure stands in an upstairs window. By morning the elephant will be gone, the street reset, and no one inside will admit anything unusual happened the night before.

Matylda Konecka is a Polish illustrator from Wrocław, trained in landscape architecture, who relocated her studio to a 19th-century Victorian vicarage in Scotland and became one of the country's best-selling illustrators. Her work has been widely exhibited across Europe, recognized in major competitions, and featured on album covers for established musicians. She was named one of Poland's top five female artists in 2016.
