Where she comes from the air was thinner, drier; here everything drips. The fox found her, or she found him, but who can remember. He was not always this size, and she was not always this quiet. The lightning in her crown answers her when she calls it, and sometimes even when she does not.

Art by Tara McPherson
Tara McPherson is an American contemporary artist exploring the human condition through powerful female archetypes. Her otherworldly characters offer a peek into the complexities of the human psyche. Inspired by mythology and nature, her portraits delve into our inner realms while referencing philosophical questions about the universe, reality, and existence. She created this piece as a commission for a special young girl who requested a magical forest and her favorite animal, a fox.
